Q. What steps did you take to receive credit and what type of credit did you receive?
A. I went to the coop-dept to check the requirements for internship credit. Then called Heidi, my Vector Marketing Campus Relations Manager for our region, to send the packet to NIU, and to talk to the counselor. Then I called to double check if my counselor received the packet. Then I filled out the small amount of paper work, and I was set up for coop-credit.

Q. What advice would you give someone looking into getting credit?
A. GET IT! Although if you are ever in doubt or need help call the Vector Marketing Campus Relations Manager in your region and make sure to double check with your counselor to see if they received the packet.

Q. What is the one thing you make sure to mention to convince the advisor to grant credit?
A. Share with them your goals, and that you’re a student trying to get a head start in gaining business experience.

Q. What were a few benefits of the credit? How are those benefits helping you in your work?
A. On my transcripts it lists that I received internship credit, and it will put you a head of other students in your schools that don’t get any type of internship credit. Furthermore, when interviewing for future internships, it will give you not only the experience in business, and communication skills but it will also boost your confidence and recruiters will sense that.

Q. Any additional advice on getting internship credit?
A. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO AQUIRE INTERNSHIP CREDIT WHILE WORKING WITH VECTOR! YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF!
